Bathoom Updates: Extra Storage
Bathroom Updates: Extra Storage
Most of us can use extra storage in any room, but the bathroomseems especially important. A largebathroom can be as big a problem as a small one if you can’t think of what todo with all that space, so we’ll start there.
If you have the luxury of a large space add a small dresserchest or console that coordinates with your décor; it offers storage forsupplies, towels or personal items you don’t want on display. If your space will accommodate a chair orbench or stool, it’s handy to have for dressing or placing a towel while youbathe. A bold color will also enhance alarge space. Use your wall space todisplay art, be bold go large!
Smaller spaces mean more creative ways to utilize thespace. If you have a tub/shower that youuse to bathe children, you might consider putting up a ‘train rack towel bar’,they are quite easy to find now in all your bath shops and home improvementstores. You can hang hooks for toys, orwash cloths, or long handled bath brushes. Additional towels can be stored folded on thetop of the rack. If you have only a tuband it’s primarily for children, you can add a simple towel bar down lower forthem to hang their toys, sponges and wash cloths on hooks where they can reachthem.
You might find a small corner of floor space for an oldnight stand, painted to match your décor; this can hold books, candles, bathoils or whatever you want to display or hide in the drawer or behind a cabinetdoor.
How about stacking three storage cubes in colors to enhanceyour space and use it to store extra towels or stacks of toilet tissue. If you stack your toilet tissue on its sideyou can create an interesting pyramid effect.
Drawers are easily organized with utility trays for make-up,razors, brushes, sox and unmentionables. Some things are best left undiscovered at first glance.
When in doubt always look to your vertical space, it’s anuntapped resource and there are lots of tools out there for you to make gooduse of that space. Shelves, racks andhooks. If towel bars are not possible, hooks are great, especially for kids. Anarrow space nearly begs for a row of hooks with colorful towels.
